1. Using Command Prompt
It is an ancient, yet a popular method to know your motherboard’s model number through the command prompt using the (WMIC) Windows Instrumentation Command-Line. Let’s see how.
1) Press and hold Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box
2) Type cmd.exe , to open Command Prompt
3) Now, enter the following command
wmic baseboard get product,manufacturer,version,serialnumber
4) Press Enter
You can now see the board manufacturer, its model number and version and the serial number. It is the easiest way to find out your motherboard’s model number.
2. Use the Windows Native Method
Another quick and easy method to check your motherboard model is by using the System Information tool available in Windows system itself. Here’s how you can use it.
In Windows 10,
1) Go to the Start button and type System Information
2) Click and open it from the search results
In Windows 7,
1) Press and hold Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box
2) Here, type “ msinfo32” and press Enter
In the System Information utility, you can search your motherboard with its model number in the System Summary segment. To elaborate, you’ll get this is in the System Manufacturer and System Model fields.
3. Use a Third-party Tool
