So what is this “ping” and how do you keep it low? In this guide, we’ll be a discussion about how to find out a ping and the ways to maintain it low. Let’s start.

Ping is the exact response time of your Internet connection. The ping value represents the time of the response you get after you’ve sent a request.

Ping is measured in milliseconds. For example, if your ping time is 98ms (milliseconds), this is the exact time your PC has taken to respond to a request by another computer.

A Ping over 100ms can cause severe lag in your games. It clearly means that the lower the ping, the better your games will perform.

Many online games display your ping time with the ping of other game players or servers. Undoubtedly, you want as low ping time as possible as a high ping can cause problems in your game due to the slow functioning.
