A large number of cyclists rode naked this Saturday in Mexico City to demand road safety, as well as make pedestrians and cyclists visible.

In the midst of the customary Naked Ride in the Mexican capital, organized by the global collective World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR), the event was held at the Monument to the Revolution in Mexico City.

About 500 naked cyclists toured the streets of the city, including the main square of the Mexican capital, in order to make themselves visible and claim their rights.

Pedestrians stared in amazement at the bicyclists, naked or semi-naked, mostly men, some of whom only wore a mask or had makeup on their faces.

According to local media, Mexico City has an extensive network of bicycles for public use, however, the exclusive lanes for cyclists are limited to some of the main avenues of the capital.

This event was held after two years of absence due to the pandemic.

A peculiar protest! 🫣
