Many ICS OTAs delayed due to upgradation of motorola software upgrade timeline

Motorola made some changes to its firmware update timeline this morning. It looks some ICS updates have been delayed, while others that were once promised are now undergoing evaluation. Here’s a look at what changed.

  • The Atrix 4G and Atrix 2 were originally slated to get ICS in Q3 of 2012, but have been updated to “further plans coming soon.” We’re not exactly sure what that means, but it doesn’t sound very promising.
  • The Droid XYBOARD 8.2′s ICS update was pushed back from Q3 to Q4, despite the fact that its 10.1″ brother has been on Android 4.0 since August.
  • The XOOM Family Edition will also have to wait until Q4 to see ICS. Sorry, guys.
  • While it was originally scheduled to see ICS in “early Q3,” the Droid Bionic won’t be seeing any sort of update until Q4. Ouch.
  • Both the Photon 4G and Electrify’s update statuses has been changed from “Q4 2012″ to “further plans are coming soon.” Welcome to the Atrix club.
  • Other devices, like the Droid 2, Droid 2 Global, and Droid Pro will remain on Android 2.3. No surprise there.
  • No sign of Jelly Bean for anything aside from the Wi-Fi XOOM. We already know it’s coming to the RAZR M and HD, but that’s the extent of it at the moment.
