One of the most convenient methods to view browser downloads on both Windows and Mac is using the shortcut keys. Press and hold Ctrl + J keys on Windows or Command + J keys on Mac in your browser.
A Download window opens up, and here you can see the status of your downloaded files. You can also check if the downloads are still in progress and the completed downloaded files.
In the Downloads list window of your browser, double-click on the file to make it run and click the folder icon to view the downloaded file’s folder.
For example- You have to clickthe “Showin folder” button on your Chrome browser in your computer.

2. To View Downloads in Windows

Most of the browsers save your downloaded files in the Downloads folder in your User profile folder in your Windows PC. You can even change the download location in your browser Settings or options.
- In the File Explorer Window
Another easy way to find your browser downloads is to open File Explorer. Here’s how-
- Press Windows + E keys
Alternatively, you can open it by hitting the File Explorer button in the Taskbar.
- Now, in the File Explorer window, click on the Downloads icon (to the left pane of the window)
The list of all the downloaded files and folders appears on the Downloads window in the File Explorer. You can search for the file from the list by typing the name of the file in the search bar (to the top-right). We suggest you create a shortcut of your Downloads window to your Desktop.
3. To View Browser Downloads in Mac
One of the easiest ways to find browser downloads in Mac is by open the finder app. For those who don’t know, Finder is a macOS application that helps you to manage files, folders, and other relatable items. Here’s how to use Finder-
- Open Finder application
- Go to the File option and select New Finder Window and open the Downloads folder
All your recent downloads will show up in the Downloads folder. Search for the file you want to view and click on it to open it.
