Microsoft Corporation launched its latest windows phone 8 OS on 28th October 2012. The OS is also known as Apollo and is aims at catching up with the Android and iOS platform. Three manufacturers have already announced they will be having devices operating on the Windows Phone 8 .they include Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 ), HTC (Windows phones8S and Windows Phone 8X) Samsung model: Galaxy Ativ S. Windows Phone 8 Apps platform offers Windows Phone Marketplace with over 75,000 applications certified by Microsoft . All previous apps of Windows Phone 7 will also run on the new platform. It runs live apps that bring information to the Start screen making it easier to catch up with daily development of the apps. The apps running on the OS include Visualead from visualead.com . This application offers a platform on which advertisers and designers can integrate a visual Quick Response code on their products. Visual QR is more appealing and easy to relate to compared to the convectional box QR.
The OS also offer Xbox in the music and videos of up to 30 million songs MP3 format from the big music groups EMI, Sony BMG, Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group. It also offers Xbox Music Pass as a subscription service.
Kids’ corner is exclusive to windows phone 8 allowing kid s to access to games, music, apps and videos selected by parents. This makes sure that kids do not make calls or to other people as they play games.
Rooms helps to set up areas where you can share and chat with a desired social networks. It makes it easy to share calendars, photos or shopping lists with family members. This has put many parents at ease when their children are playing games or viewing photos as no accidental texts or calls can be made.
Data sense makes it easier to surf and do much more without the worry of overshooting your data limit. It helps by allowing compression of web pages and will notify you as you approach your limit.
